If you have listings for one or more rental places posted somewhere on the internet, you can now let people find those listings on PadMapper by hitting the little “Post Pad” link in the lower-left box. This will take you to the create-a-new-listing page. Once you post, it’ll ask you to login if you’re not logged in already (or register, which should only take a few seconds), and then you’ll see the listing management page. The management page lets you activate, deactivate, and delete listings, access the lister tools that I’ll describe below, and get credits. Posting is free currently, but I’m planning on charging a little for having 2 or more posts active at once.
All direct posts are given “Featured” status, meaning they have different colored markers (currently yellow), and they get priority over all of the craigslist listings when it comes to the viewable marker cutoff. This is because they’re generally going to be more accurate than the automatically-grabbed craigslist ads, since these will be generated by a human who can see the results of their input as they’re doing it.
If you’re a landlord with multiple buildings, or a realtor, it will eventually cost a bit to have more than one active listing at a time. This should be mitigated by the fact that those who contact you will be better informed about the apartment than the average craigslist user, and therefore less likely to waste your time. It’s less work for users to research the apartment on PadMapper than on other sites, so they’re more likely look into it first, rather than spamming you and looking at it later if you respond. Also, I’m including tools to make it easy for you to have your customers browse and search through just your listings on PadMapper. Currently there’s a page that will allow you to create a link that will open PadMapper viewing a particular location, with only your listings shown. If there’s demand, I’m planning on creating something that will create code that you can include on your webpage with a miniature version of PadMapper inside. This will show your chosen view initially as well.
But anyway, unlimited posting is free, so go see for yourself!
And as always, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any suggestions, or if you encounter any problems. Thanks!
